Studio Philosophy
Platinum Dance Academy not only provides students, children and adults with
quality dance instruction, but believes in supporting the growth of the whole
person. Sessions are conducted to promote high self worth, a love for learning,
and an awareness to accommodate the diverse needs of each dancer. Platinum aims
to strengthen, and stimulate the mind, body, and spirit.

I MIGHT BE ABLE TO DANCE AFTER ALL!
When we first started dancing lesson ten months ago, Blaine had to drag me kicking into the studio, because I felt so clumsy and uncoordinated—terminally so. The first lesson, I was nervous and embarrassed going in, but by the end of the hour, I started to think I might I be able to dance after all. Shelley was patient, enthusiastic, and like all great teachers, able to make me believe I could dance.
So for ten months we have practiced , and had weekly lessons, and even
take our act out in public (first at Blaine’s 50th high school
reunion), and Shelley has helped us transform ourselves not just into people
who can dance a little, but into people who can dance in public and have fun
and look good!
We deliberately got married in the morning to avoid the need for dancing,
but our 30th anniversary is coming up. Maybe we’ll need to have a dance
for all our friends, with Shelley as the teacher!

WE CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF HER CLASS!
Shelley has enormous talent as a teacher. She makes steps that initially seem
complicated do-able, even for beginners.
If you’re not a beginner, she helps you grasp the essence of
dancing elegantly. We can’t
get enough of her class!

Shelley is a well-trained and highly motivated dance instructor. She really
connects with the kids and knows how to get the best out of them while keeping
it fun! It is amazing what my daughter has learned in three years.
